Client Representative & Web Site Designer

Description: Sage is looking for a
talented web site designer who is great with clients,
a stickler for details, and a great multi-tasker. You
will do a
lot of the required
tasks yourself and are also a very capable delegator
to assign tasks to the appropriate in-house experts.
Knowledge of websites, email, Dreamweaver, Photoshop
etc. are all part of your required skill set.
The successful
candidate will consult with clients to develop and document
web site requirements, prepare storyboards, & develop
web site architectures. Experience and confidence will
be used to source, select and organize information for
inclusion on web pages, creating the design, appearance,
layout and flow of web sites.
Duties will include:
- Managing and developing web site projects for small
business clients
- Maintaining and supporting Web Sites for existing
small business clients
- Working as part of a team on aspects of larger projects ; adhering to project plans and schedules
- Delegation and follow up of required maintenance tasks
- Ensuring quality and timeliness of output
- Accountable for time estimates around deliverables
- Designing accessible, user-centric web sites using
Adobe Photoshop in a PC environment
- Creating standards compliant sites using Macromedia
Dreamweaver templates
- Writing Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for all sites
developed
- Vector artwork creation using Adobe Illustrator
- Working within a team adhering to project plans
and schedules
- Ensuring quality and timeliness of output
- Managing time to deal with a variety of clients
concurrently
Qualifications and Skills:
- Confident and professional communication skills both written and spoken
- Comfort with speaking with clients daily, responding to many phone calls and email messages
- Artistic flare
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia
Dreamweaver
- Excellent coding of standards compliant CSS,
HTML, DHTML, XHTML
- Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Search engine techniques/knowledge a real asset
- Prior experience working as a member of a
development team
- Creative problem solving, and self driven development competency
- Experience translating business rules and requirements into concise planning documents and proposals
- Experience testing for usability
- Competency in any programming languages such as ASP.NET, ADO.NET (VB and/or C#), or ASP (VB) a definate asset
- Strong design portfolio, displaying the full range
of your skills
- Attention to detail
- Understanding of the use of design and how it affects
users
- Understanding of current Internet standards, including
Web browsers and browser specifications
- Basic technical knowledge to facilitate working with
programmers in integrating their code with web interfaces
- Desire to learn and keep up with industry standards
